Solkan Bridge is a 220-metre long stone bridge over the river Soča near Nova Gorica in western Slovenia. With an arch span of 85 metres it is the second longest stone arch in the world and the longest stone arch among train bridges. It was built in the time of the Secession, between 1900 and 1906.

The Bridge of My Dreams
I have seen before
It's familiar but different now
Do I walk on it
The waves and curves making it difficult to understand
I have to remember
And I must see
I must see what is on the other side
My mind creating colors only few know
And ones I know all too well
For that is my nature
To see what others don't
Someone says why go
I say why stay
Because you are taking your chances
And it might not be safe
I don't worry about safe
Safe is fine for most I guess
This though is too beautiful not to cross
Not to follow
For it's better than a Yellow Brick Road
How do you describe something bathed in golden light
Flowing aqua beneath like a flow of lava
A dark blue sky like wallpaper
So
Do I stay or do I go
Go
To stay would be to never experience
Amela Ramic painted a painting from my "Dream Bridge" and I am very happy that someone like it so much.
Thank you.
